About the Share Shed – A Library of Things
The Share Shed is a library of things, where people can borrow all sorts of useful things, ranging from tools, house appliances, bicycles, camping and gardening equipment, sewing machines, and much more!
The project enables people to borrow items at low cost so that they don’t have to buy them for themselves. The aim is to help people to get things done, allow them to connect with each other and share things they may need just once in a while, which also reduces our impact on Earth’s precious resources.
In July 2020 the ShareShed launched the world’s first travelling library of things, extending its services beyond Totnes, supporting Ashburton, Buckfastleigh and South Brent too, in Devon (UK).
In South Brent, you can find the Share Shed van parked every Friday from 10am to 12noon at the South Brent Old School Community Centre.
To become a member (annual membership fee is a sliding scale between £5 and £30) and reserve things beforehand, visit https://shareshed.org.uk
Can’t get to the ShareShed on Friday mornings? No problem! SSB hosts a ShareShed Locker in the Hub which means you can collect / drop off your ShareShed items between 9:30am and 11am on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
