Saving food from going to landfill, free to everyone in the community to collect
The Community Fridge is open 24 hours a day every day
The Community Fridge is temporarily located in a shed behind the School House on the Old School Centre site, near the cabins housing the Post Office and South Brent & District Caring. Access is on foot only, via the pedestrian entrance to the site on Totnes Road.
Volunteers collect surplus food from supermarkets and elsewhere and leave it in the Fridge for anyone in the community to come and collect. The food is completely free, so it’s a great resource for everyone.
Support the Community Fridge
The Community Fridge is entirely run by volunteers and is managed by Sustainable South Brent. If you would like to volunteer to help with the Fridge (e.g. by collecting or sorting food), the Fridge Team would love to hear from you! If you would like to donate towards the costs of running the Fridge (e.g. electricity, equipment, etc), you can do so by donating via the Sustainable South Brent website: www.ssb.org.uk/donate
