The Old School Community Centre is closed from 22nd June to 1st November 2026 for roof replacement and refurbishment. We are therefore not able to take any bookings within this period.

Self service tea and coffee making facilities and a microwave are available in the Servery area.
Wi-Fi is freely available throughout the Centre.
Equipment available to hire for a small fee includes a Projector and screen and a Portable PA system. For full details see our Equipment page.

Rooms Available
The Hall
The Hall is our largest room. The Hall has a sprung pine floor and an upright piano. This room measures 9.7 x 6.8m = 66m² and is best suited to functions of up to 70 people, be this birthday parties, choir practice, dancing or a fundraising event. It’s also ideal for exercise classes, talks and film nights. The Hall has ballet barres on the wall, and three large west-facing windows with black-out blinds.
The Hall has connecting doors to the Aune room, which makes the space even more flexible. The Hall is equipped with tables and chairs which can be set out in any configuration. There is a drop-down projector screen; a projector and a portable PA system can be hired separately.
The Aune Room
The Aune Room is a medium-sized room, measuring 6.6 x 5.7m = 37.5m² and is ideal for groups of up to 20 people. It adjoins the Hall, so it makes a useful break-out space for larger functions. Alternatively it is perfect for smaller groups, meetings or classes. It is a very flexible space, with a parquet floor and equipped with tables and chairs. It has large east-facing windows which makes it sunny and warm in the mornings.
The Beacon Room
The Beacon Room is a medium-sized room which houses South Brent Community Library and South Brent Archive. It has a large rectangular table in the centre of the room, so is ideal for meetings or teaching. It has west and north facing windows, a parquet floor, and comfortable chairs. It is best suited to meetings or classes of up to 10 people. It has a quiet, cosy feel. The room measures 6.2 x 5.3m = 33.5m² and the furniture can be moved into different configurations if desired.
The Study
[The Study is our smallest room. It is ideal for one-to-one meetings, teaching, or as a workspace. Tucked away in the corner of the building, it is also our quietest room. The Study measures 3.68m x 2.79m and can accommodate up to 6 people. There is a large round table in the centre of the room, and several comfortable chairs. The furniture can be moved as desired.]
