The South Brent Community Library is located in the heart of the Old School Centre. The majority of the books have been donated but it has also benefited from a lottery grant to purchase new stock.
Monday to Friday: 10:00-12:00 and 14:00-16:00 (Afternoons term time only)
South Brent Community Library holds the information given on your membership form in order to manage the library efficiently.
We keep details of your name, address and telephone number(s), including those of other adults at the same address who may also wish to be library members. Details of children under 18 at the same address are not recorded, other than as numbers of such children. These details are kept securely as hard copies, in a locked filing cabinet in the Library. They are available only to the Library Coordinator (Gilian Knight), the volunteer librarians and the Centre Manager. Your information will be used only for purposes relating to the library, and will not be passed on to any third parties.
You should contact the Library Coordinator, using the Centre phone number (01364 72700) or by email firstname.lastname@example.org if you wish to access, change or delete your information.
If you tell us that you no longer wish to be a member of the library, your details will be deleted within 28 days.

The Community Library in the Old School Centre is looking for volunteer librarians to help staff this very valuable village resource.
The commitment is not onerous –one two-hour session every four weeks or so – and the job is not difficult. Duties are mainly checking books in and out, shelf tidying, and sorting book donations….there are no complicated IT systems! The library is a lovely, cozy place to spend a couple of hours, and it’s a great place to discover and try new books!
If you think you might be interested in helping, please contact the Library Coordinator Gillian Knight (email email@example.com tel. No. 01364 388015)

We are grateful for donations of books for the library (in good condition). However, we cannot accept out of date guides or manuals (e.g. Antiques Guides), Mills and Boon novels, or Readers’ Digest condensed books. Regretfully the library can no longer accept hard back fiction books due to lack of space.
We also welcome donations of films on DVD, but not on videotape.
Please note, if you are donating, that any books which we cannot keep will be given to a charity shop.
The library raises additional funds to help cover its costs by offering surplus books to the public. A good selection of books is available outside the library with a suggested donation of 10-50p.
Community Library Book Group
This group meets on the second Thursday of the month, at 7.30pm in the Old School Centre.
All welcome; please contact Derith Taberner, 01364 73852 or firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.
