CAR PARK RE-SURFACING HAS BEEN COMPLETED !

We hope you like it! Glendinning the main contractor and QMS the markings sub contractor have both done an outstanding job completing the "Access for All" project.  The scheme provides a safer, well defined access to the Centre for those on foot or cycling.  Car parking spaces are always going to be in high demand but we hope the new markings will better define the parking area for all users, particularly the mobility impaired.

Thank you to all Centre users for your patience and understanding while the works were carried out and the car park closed.

NEW TRUSTEES AND VOLUNTEERS WANTED

The Old School Community Centre is only one year away from celebrating 20 years of having been saved for the community and grown into a most invaluable and much loved Centre. But all of this has not happened without hundreds, if not thousands of man hours in working tirelessly to keep this building as accessible and vibrant as it can be for every age group. Considering it has the South Brent Children’s Clubs and South Brent Caring under it’s roof it truly is a “full lifetime facility“.

This autumn we will celebrate having a newly refurbished and resurfaced car park during the school summer holidays and it will be one year since the Fitness Suite was opened.

Are you looking to become more involved in your community as the Old School Community Centre needs an injection of new life blood!  Would you like to support the new Action Plan, taking forward the Charity Review 2016 feedback and enhancing this invaluable and much loved community asset?

The number of Trustees has dropped and at the end of the year will drop further when 3 of the long term Trustees move on and so the Centre needs YOU to help it continue it’s success story.  If you are interested and wish to find out more about becoming a Trustee contact Mike Baines, Vice-Chair of Trustees on 01364 72559.

If being a Trustee is not what you want to commit to, can we now form a “Friends of the Community Centre”; a bank of volunteers who are there to help in all aspects of the centre’s day to day life? Drop in and see Glyn, who is the part time manager working weekday mornings from 8.30 am – 12.30 am, let him know you are interested and we can set up a friendly chat with a couple of current Trustees. And please spread the word!!

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SUPPORT THE CENTRE WHY NOT CONSIDER BECOMING A MEMBER OR FRIEND OF THE CENTRE.

The minimum subscriptions are........Individual: £2 per year (Unwaged: £1 per year); Family £5 per year and Life Membership available at £50

Please complete an application form available in the Centre and pass it to the Centre Manager OR better still why not set up a standing order (Click HERE to download a form)
